In the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, the Youth Exchange "The 21st-century challenge: extremism and radicalisation" took place in Adana, Türkiye. From June 24th to July 2nd, the group -consisting of 40 young Europeans sharing the same vision for a discrimination-free Europe- participated in activities, workshops and interactive lectures about the topic.
We had the chance to bond with like-minded individuals from all around the world, tried local meals, learned to make small talk in Turkish and formed friendships that I am confident will last for a long, long time.
It was an action and knowledge-packed experience, full of insightful presentations, adventurous explorations and fun times with new friends from all Europe.
The city of Adana, far from the bordering with Europe part of Türkiye, was the perfect location for this project. Getting to know the locals and becoming familiar to their mindset and hospitality smashed any remnant of preoccupation or stereotypes that we might have had. The unforgettable project and the amazing people will forever have a special place in my heart.
