The "Stories of Epirus People" or "Ἀπειρωτᾶν" was created with an intention to offer young adults a space for sharing cultural heritage stories about Ioannina and the region of Epirus. The stories come from local people who are in connection with our communities for many years and like to share with us about the culture, history and little secrets of our region. Below you will find stories, galleries and videos created by our volunteers.

Krete and Bahaa, European Solidarity Corps volunteers, created a video where they interviewed three local musicians from the city of Ioannina.
On one of the first days of my volunteering experience in Ioannina, I met Athanasis, the owner of the building where the Youth Center of Epirus is hosted. As soon as he discovered that I am Italian, he started speaking to me in a language that sounded somehow familiar, but that I had never heard before. He told me it was Vlach, the language of the Vlachs, a population that lives in the mountains of Epirus and, in general, of the Balkans.
I was so fascinated and curious that I decided what would have been my personal project: studying and reporting about the Vlachs. The contents that I realized are:
- a presentation with synthetic information
- an infographic with pictures and short descriptions.
- a podcast of 6 episodes about different topics of the culture of the Vlachs.
Enjoy!
