Training Course "Digital Youth Climate Action" in Ioannina, Greece

This Erasmus+ training course project was the Part 1 of 2 related mobilities. The first training course was hosted by our organisation in Ioannina, from 1st until 5th of February 2025. The Part 2 will be hosted in Ankara, Turkiye, in the spring of 2025.

The main target group of the project is youth workers who advocate or aim to advocate in the field of migration and climate change by using digital skills, aged 18- 35, residents of the partner countries of this project: Turkiye, Greece, Italy, and Poland. In total, 27 people took part in the 1st training course. The general aim of the project is to enable the youth workers to become effective and informed actors in the field of sustainability and climate change advocacy.

Firstly, the training course for youth workers aimed to increase and strengthen their capacities in the sector by sharing their knowledge and experience in working with vulnerable youth groups and climate advocacy with each other. The training sessions and activities were designed to bridge the youth workers between theoretical knowledge and practical application, using interactive and participatory methods (e.g. discussions, presentations, workshops, brainstorming, working with online tools, etc.). Secondly, through the strengthening of digital skills and the use of modern digital tools, the project empowered the target group to be more influential in youth-related issues, especially in online environments.

Our project also allowed the target group to develop and share the skills and knowledge needed to be able to work more effectively with young people, increase youth participation and raise awareness of youth on climate change and sustainability issues more effectively. This will help the target group to sustain their engagement and work with young people in a more meaningful, effective and far reaching way, thus improving the quality and impact of youth work practice.
