In the Erasmus+ programme, the Training Course "Queer Ambassadors" took place in Ommen, the Netherlands, from 14 to 22 June. It was a project organised by Youth for Mobility and focused on the rights and empowerment of the LGBTQIA+ community. This Training Course was attended by 25 participants from Bulgaria, Latvia, Latvia, Poland, the Netherlands and Greece. One news from the Greek participants reports:
"The Queer Ambassadors Erasmus+ in Ommen, Netherlands, took place from 14 to the 22nd of June and was a truly unique and unforgettable experience for those who participated. The aim of the
programme was to empower participants as youth leaders to address the discrimination and unconscious prejudice that exists in their own communities in relation to LGBTQ+ people.
The activity programme was based on non-formal methods that were highly interactive, required active participation and enabled youth leaders to learn hands-on. Some of the skills developed during the programme were familiarity with orientations and identities, understanding the problems and discrimination faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, awareness of unconscious biases of the participants themselves, and persuasive communication and as well as discussion tactics".
