During the month of September, on the dates 12-18, 25 youth workers met in the small village of Cercedilla, Spain, to take part in an Erasmus + training course, entitled Re(fugee)BEGINNING, coordinated by the Euroactiva-T organisation. Participants were able to increase their level of competences and skills, as well as to promote democratic life in Europe, and in the labour market, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity. Furthermore, we were able to better understand how the Erasmus+ programme can contribute to the inclusion of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
The workshops that took place during these days were based on non-formal methodology that allows the development and acquisition of new skills and attitudes, as a consequence contributing to the social and personal development of the person.
We had the great opportunity to visit a centre for cultural creation and research, called La Tortuga, in the centre of Madrid, where we got to know the different workshops they run. We also participated in some introductory activities about the Theatre of the Oppressed, which we all enjoyed.
It has been an enriching experience both for the content we worked on and the good moments we enjoyed together. It has been a great first experience, encouraging us to continue participating in more Erasmus + projects.
